Graduate Year – Delivery Block ‘Single’ online delivery

The graduate year training consists of a total of 3.5 days of training and 4 pre-requisite e-learnings. It is divided into three delivery blocks. Block ‘Double’ consisting of 2 days, block ‘Single’ consisting of 1 day and block ‘Half’ being a half day delivery.
In the two delivery blocks, “Single” and “Half” you will get a chance to go through case studies, ask all your questions and build networks with your peer group. The content will cover credit law, debt enforcement, counselling skills as well as ethics and supervisee skills. We will keep the content delivery to a minimum and instead focus on providing practice opportunities. This training is designed to provide you with a platform for questions, case studies and practical exercises.

Responsible Lending

This session was based on a resource developed by the UK Leeds University business school and now adapted for financial counsellors in Victoria called Money Worries and how to beat them. The booklet was designed to empower financial counsellors in supporting their clients to develop stronger emotional resilience. This session has introduce the resource and its content and provide opportunity to further develop your counselling skills. The focus of this training is supporting clients with feelings of shame, guilt and embarrassment.

The Fines Lifecycle and Options

After this workshop you will no longer be afraid of tackling your client’s fines. Fines and accumulated fines are at the core of a lot of people’s debts. This workshop work focus on the lifecycle of fines. It will step us through the infringements system, what the options are for a client at each stage and how a financial counsellor can support.

Session was separated into two components:
Day 1 training – The first part of the training is focused on campaign messaging and tactics, political engagement and sharing client stories to drive change.
Day 2 training- The second part of the training helps you learning new skills around engaging with the media and include helpful hints and tips on media interviews and presentation skills.
