Part 2: Credit Issues

Please note: in this version of the e-Learning Series, modules 2.2-2.5 are currently unavailable. The intention is that they will be made available once they have been customised to reflect NSW legislation. You may encounter references to those modules in other parts of the Series; however, the absence of these modules will not adversely affect your ability to complete all parts of this Series.

Part 2 summarises key differences in legal protections for small business owners, along with potential options and negotiation tactics for small business clients where there are issues with creditors and suppliers.

Module 2: Introduction to the legal system and how it pertains to small business credit issues

1-1.5 hrs
1 CPD points
Technical, Skills

This module summarises the different legal framework for small businesses which often do not qualify for the same protections as retail consumers under the consumer credit laws.

Part 3: Financial Fundamentals

Module 3: Financial Fundamentals

2-3 hrs
3 CPD points
Technical, Skills

This module provides an elementary introduction to key financial statements and tools for assessing the financial situation of the business. A financial assessment is often critical if time is needed to re-organise finances, or to negotiate changed repayments, or to provide breathing space to allow owners to make bigger decisions about future direction.
