The FCVic Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Zyl Hovenga-Wauchope to the Executive Officer position, after an extensive recruitment process.
Zyl is a strategic leader with a strong commitment to social and economic justice. His professional experience includes the positions of elected CEO and later Chair of member-based organisation, PARSA, as well as three years as Operations Manager for Care Financial Counselling in the ACT.
Zyl has served in leadership positions in a number of community organisations, including as President of Sexual Health and Family Planning ACT, as a Director of the Arthur Shakespeare Foundation for Scouting, and as a member of the Australian National University Council.
Zyl holds a Master of Laws from the Australian National University, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Australian Catholic University, and membership with the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
The Board believes Zyl will be an excellent appointment to this important role, working alongside our team at FCVic to continue to champion financial counselling in Victoria and advocate for the needs of vulnerable Victorians experiencing financial difficulty.
Zyl will commence in the role from 2 October 2023. We look forward to welcoming him.
