Application approval is not automatic and all applications will be reviewed by the FCVic Board at the next monthly Board meeting. You will be notified of the outcome of your application shortly after that time.

By submitting this application, you agree to:

  1. support the purposes and objectives of Financial Counselling Victoria (FCVic) as detailed in the Constitution
  2. comply with the Australian financial counselling National Code of Ethical Practice
  3. refrain from engaging in fee-for-service financial counselling whilst a member of FCVic
  4. carry out your work with no conflict of interest (or, where conflict extists or potentially exists, disclose such information to FCVic)
  5. authorise FCVic to collect information from or disclose information to funding bodies and employing agencies, where this is relevant to assessing or determining your capacity to meet professional standards or otherwise relevant to statutory obligations of FCVic and those bodies and agencies, and
  6. meet all requirements for Continuous Professional Development and Professional Supervision as outlined in the National Standards for Membership & Accreditation.

Eligibility criteria for Affiliate membership:

In addition to the above agreement, applicants for Affiliate membership must either be

  1. working in the financial counselling sector in a related role but not as a financial counsellor;
  2. holds the Diploma of Financial Counselling, Diploma of Financial Counselling (Rural), or Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling), but is not working as a financial counsellor and has not maintained requirements for CPD.

Membership fees:

The membership fee for Affiliate Membership is $200 per year.

Employment and Education Details - New Affiliate Member
Acceptable forms of evidence are:
(a) Certificate of Diploma issued by the RTO
(b) Letter of Completion issued by the RTO
(c) Statement of Attainment issued by the RTO
(d) Statutory declaration attesting to the completion of the Diploma, signed by an authorised person
