Getting assistance

Contact a financial counsellor for free and independent information, and support.

If you’re looking to speak with a financial counsellor:

Call the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007

A qualified financial counsellor will assess your situation over the phone and provide you with free advice to help you move on.

If your matter is more complex, they can refer you to your closest face-to-face financial counselling service.

The National Debt Helpline financial counsellors can also put you in touch with other support services, such as legal services, crisis food and accommodation services, and health services.
