The Integrated Services Project (‘ISP’), is a partnership between FCVic and Social Security Rights Victoria (‘SSRV)’, to improve client outcomes through financial counsellors and social security lawyers working together more effectively.
SSRV
2025 has been a year of big change for Social Security Rights Victoria (SSRV) and we are pleased to be in a stronger position to deliver our statewide specialist social security legal services. In July we became a program of Holstep Health where we are proud to be a partner legal service to West Heidelberg Community Legal Centre and to work closely with Holstep’s social services and health teams. SSRV has said farewell to our former CEO Gillian Wilks and welcomed Stephanie Price as our new Manager Community Legal Services.
Our Worker Help Line service is open for your calls Monday to Friday at 9481 0655. If we are busy when you call, please leave a voicemail and we will call you back.
We are now located in West Heidelberg but are still a statewide service.
Contacting Centrelink
Did you know that you can now book phone or face-to-face appointments with Centrelink? 15 minute phone appointments for simple matters and 30 minute in-person appointments for more complex matters can be booked through MyGov, by calling Centrelink, or by visiting a centre. MyGov is the easiest option and a support person or lawyer can attend the appointment with the client.
Upcoming SSRV and FCVic dates
You might have met SSRV’s financial counsellor Michele and community lawyer Marion at the FCVic Conference, where they had a great time and were pleased to hear from financial counsellors about the social security legal issues occurring most frequently for their clients.
Michele and Marion are the new co-convenors of FCVic’s Government Services Network and are looking forward to meeting and hearing from you at our next meeting on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, at 2:00pm. We are also partnering with the ASRC to deliver the Migrants, Visas and Centrelink CPD on Wednesday, 19 November, as SSRV receives many enquiries from financial counsellors about migrants and Centrelink eligibility.
