Zyl Hovenga-Wauchope
Zyl Hovenga-Wauchope is the Executive Officer of Financial Counselling Victoria, where he champions the financial counselling profession and advocates for the needs of vulnerable Victorians experiencing financial difficulty. Zyl is a strategic leader dedicated to advancing social and economic justice in professional and voluntary capacities.
Zyl previously served as the elected CEO and then the Chair of the member-based student services organisation, PARSA, and was the Operations Manager for Care Financial Counselling, based in the ACT. Zyl has supported various community organisations as a voluntary Director. He is currently a Director of Sexual Health and Family Planning ACT and the Arthur Shakespeare Foundation for Scouting.
Zyl holds a Master of Laws from the Australian National University, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Australian Catholic University, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Zyl has 3 children under 5 and Zyl values the flexibility of the community sector in championing fair working arrangements for all peoples’ unique circumstances.
