In our January edition, we provided an update on the Digital Transformation Roadmap project, funded by the Financial Counselling Industry Fund’s Innovation Grant 2025 round.
FCVic is working closely with our technology partner Infoxchange and the Financial Counsellors’ Association of NSW (FCAN) to deliver this project between November 2025 and October 2026, under the supervision of our Reference Group. Our Reference Group commenced monthly meetings in November 2025, with representatives from FCAN, FCVic, NSW and Victorian agencies, financial counsellors, and technology partners, among others.
Now, the project is well underway and has completed our first step in the consultation phase. In February, both FCVic and FCAN asked our respective members to complete survey questions on their use and views about technology and artificial intelligence (AI). For FCVic, these questions were incorporated into our FCVic Members Survey, and appreciate so many of our members sharing their views on using AI.
In March, we sought information from agencies across Victoria and NSW to understand their current use of technology systems, and their approach to AI at an organisational-level. We are most grateful to the agencies who took the time to respond to this survey, noting it required input from both operations/IT and service delivery teams – thank you.
Our next step in the consultation for the project is to arrange two targeted workshops with Victorian and NSW agencies, facilitated by Infoxchange, to further explore the sector’s current use of technology systems and organisational approaches to AI. The first workshop, on 20 April 2026, will focus on technology systems, and our second workshop on 27 May 2026 will focus on AI.
Separately, to assist agencies understand the risks and frameworks for using AI, we also shared a useful ‘AI Assessment Tool’ for agencies to assess their readiness to adopt AI at an organisational level, developed by our technology partner Infoxchange.
FCVic is most grateful to all financial counsellors, and agencies who have taken the time to respond to our survey questions for this project. We are really excited to learn more from the sector in the coming workshops, and this will inform our final output – the digital transformation roadmap, with recommendations and actionable steps for agencies.
If anyone in the sector is interested in hearing more about the project or using Infoxchange’s AI Assessment Tool for their agency, please contact Georgina Molloy, Projects Coordinator at FCVic ([email protected]).
