In our October 2025 edition, we shared news about our new Digital Transformation Roadmap project, funded by the Financial Counselling Industry Fund’s Innovation Grant round.
As an update, FCVic is working closely with our technology partner Infoxchange and the Financial Counsellors’ Association of NSW (FCAN) to deliver this project, under the supervision of our Reference Group. Our Reference Group commenced monthly meetings in November 2025, with representatives from FCAN, FCVic, NSW and Victorian agencies, financial counsellors, and technology partners, among others.
Now, the project is well underway, with consultation with the sector about to commence. Both FCVic and FCAN will be asking their respective members to respond to a survey with questions about their use of technology and artificial intelligence (AI), and awareness of AI‑related risks and opportunities.
In Victoria, FCVic will incorporate these questions into FCVic’s annual Members Survey, opening in February 2026. These questions seek to understand members’ current awareness of AI‑related risks, how prepared members feel through existing training and guidance, and where additional support may be needed. In NSW, FCAN will share their questions with their members.
From mid‑February onwards, FCVic, in partnership with Infoxchange and FCAN, will seek input from agencies across Victoria and NSW to understand their existing client case management systems and future needs, and agencies’ approaches to AI. This will include questions about agencies’ organisational readiness, risk preferences, and current AI usage.
Agencies will be asked to participate in a bespoke survey, opening in mid‑February, and follow‑up workshops to discuss and understand the results of the surveys. FCVic is very aware that Victorian agency managers’ time is valuable, and we are most grateful to agency managers for making time to respond to this important survey. Both the member survey and the agency survey responses are vital to inform this project’s comprehensive digital transformation roadmap, which will provide recommendations and actionable steps for agencies to modernise their systems.
We thank all FCVic members and agencies in Victoria and NSW in advance for your valuable input into this project. Please direct any questions to Georgina Molloy, Projects Coordinator at FCVic ([email protected]).
