This Small Business in-depth webinar has provided a refresher on company insolvency for small business financial counsellors. The session has covered the various pathways to insolvency, and provide updates to changes to the insolvency regime – including Small Business Restructuring – in the post-Covid era. The presenters have addressed some key issues of concern facing SBFCs trying to assist small business company owners/ directors, such as: when company debts become personal debts; director liability when directorship resulted from coercion or economic abuse; how best to assist small business owners when they can’t afford liquidation; processes to deregister a company when liquidation can’t be afforded.
