Trauma is often closely linked to AOD use and trauma informed care will come into the mix when looking on how to best support your clients affected by problem AOD. Lina Do ( Senior AOD Counsellor) has showed the most recent research findings on how different drugs affect people and their behaviour followed by a discussion with an AOD Financial Counsellor, how to incorporate this knowledge into your financial counselling practice

Working with interpreters

Working with interpreters training builds the expertise required to work with interpreters in a highly effective way to maximise practitioner/client communication and manage complex interpreting situations.
This workshop was delivered by the Centre for Culture Ethnicity and Health (CEH). CEH has extensive experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and is a well-respected provider of cultural competence training in the health, community, and government sectors.

Graduate Year – Delivery Block ‘Half’ online delivery

The graduate year training has started with the first two-day delivery block “Double” completed in November 2020, it is now time for the remaining two delivery blocks “Single” and “Half” which will complete the full training. This training consists of a total of 3.5 days of training and 4 pre-requisite e-learnings. It is divided into three delivery blocks. Block ‘Double’ consisting of 2 days, block ‘Single’ consisting of 1 day and block ‘Half’ being a half day delivery.
The content for two delivery blocks, “Single” and “Half” covers credit law, debt enforcement, counselling skills as well as ethics and supervisee skills. This training is designed to provide you with a platform for questions, case studies and practical exercises.

Family Violence Training for Financial Counsellors: Leaderclass

This Leaderclass was designed specifically for the leading practitioners in the field. The aim of the Leaderclass was to provide specialist, leading financial counsellors with opportunity to continue building best practice skills and knowledge in responding to the needs of victim survivors of family violence and economic abuse. The content and format of the Leaderclass was determined in consultation with participants. The session assisted senior practitioners to respond to complex cases – the type of cases you might not encounter every day, but that challenge your current skill set.
