Introduction to Financial Elder Abuse

- 4 CPD points
- Technical, Skills
Over several years, Financial Counselling Victoria has been strengthening the links between financial counsellors, community service workers and community members for elder abuse prevention and response. Part of this work involves professional development for financial counsellors on the topic of elder abuse and its context for Victorian families.
This professional development has been developed for self-guided study and ongoing reference purposes. The self-guided online format provides for rapid upskilling of the financial counsellors who are tasked with delivery of the Victorian Government’s elder abuse prevention and response initiative in the bushfire affected communities of Alpine, Towong and East Gippsland.
These resources are complemented by small group online workshops. The remainder of the professional development is a combination of working in your own time, using online learning materials and references, and interactive webinars led by experienced financial counsellors and other elder abuse practitioners.
