Commercial Leases and Small Business issues
Commercial Leases and Small Business issues session was focused on commercial leases for small business. Session was presented by experts from two entities being the Victorian Small Business Commission (VSBC which is an ombudsman type service) and Everyday Justice (a philanthropic legal service funded by Mills Oakley).
This session has provided an outline of the current Victorian commercial rent relief agreements for small businesses; how to engage landlords; what the VSBC can do before mediation; mediation and mediation costs; what happens when mediation fails; are there any ‘legal’ levers to pull; legal pathways including VCAT (for the small business as applicant and as respondent).

Money Talks for Better Ageing factsheets
An initiative of Australian Multicultural Community Services, funded by the Ecstra Foundation, these resources are designed for use in community-led discussions about money. Produced by Financial Counselling Victoria, the resources were co-developed with community members by Financial Counselling Victoria, Australian Multicultural Community Services and Seniors Rights Victoria.
As we grow older, what works best for us may change. Sometimes money does not stretch far enough and we may find it difficult to speak for ourselves about what we need.
The Money Talks for Better Ageing program is a gentle introduction to these issues.
